Although over the range models are very lightweight, compared to standard microwaves, special care should be taken to ensure that they are being mounted correctly. Make sure you are creating the proper support system, otherwise you will create a dangerous situation.

There are many models of the Frigidaire over the range microwave, but one thing they all have in common is that they are installed in exactly the same manner. Firstly, you should create more room for yourself by moving the range from the wall. If doing that cannot be easily achieved then use a drop cloth to cover it. Locate the wall studs behind the range, expect them to be between 16 and 24 inches apart.

Follow the mounting instructions for the mounting of the wall template; mark its outline and drill the holes needed in the cabinet bottom . Using the wood screws that came with the microwave, screw the bracket to theinto the wall making sure they go into the studs. Toggle nuts and toggle bolts should be screwed together, and one should go into each of the drilled holes. Make sure the nut is tight on the inside wall.

With the assistance of your helper, pick up and slide the microwave along the bracket, and push towards the wall. Secure the oven to the face plate and fasten to the bracket. Using the 3 screws given, attach louver to the microwave. Screw in the 2 top cabinet screws with the washers and ensure they are tight.

The microwave should only be plugged into a grounded 3 prong outlet. Do not use an extension cord with your microwave.
